Building and Grounds

Our Buildings and Grounds Department consists of several areas pertaining to the care of Southeastern Virginia Training Center’s facilities and acreage, including Maintenance and Housekeeping. Each of these areas support the overall mission of SEVTC to provide individualized and personalized care to those who reside with us. We strive to maintain our property and equipment in good, safe working order for use by residents and staff.

• Maintenance
  Our maintenance department consists of key trades professionals including plumber, painter, heating/air conditioner mechanic and electrician. Carpenters and assistants help round out the “fix it” crew, prepared to tackle most any challenge.
  
  Two groundskeepers maintain the 100+ acreage of SEVTC including flowerbeds and debris removal. These superior employees also assist with furniture and equipment relocation as needed.

 

• Housekeeping
  Our housekeeping staff works diligently to keep clean our residential cottages and office areas. They must be educated in infection control techniques, sanitizing principles and general deep-cleaning procedures. Our housekeepers deserve a pat on the back for a thankless, tiresome job that they perform with a smile!
