Food Services

The Food Service Department of the Southeastern Virginia Training Center provides essential nutritional services to all residents of the facility. By meeting federal nutritional guidelines it provides the chance to consume a well-balanced meal providing their daily nutrient requirements.

The department seeks to reach out and aid the residents, programs, special functions and training operations under the USDA's (United States Department of Agriculture) child nutrition program.

The Food Service personnel are the heart of the operation. Staff members are committed to serving meals that are prepared under safe and sanitary conditions. The Food Service Department views the cafeteria as an extension of a home type atmosphere and learning environment. Opportunities to explore the world of food can help to enlighten and enrich a persons mind as well as his body. It is our goal in the Food Services Department to assure each resident receives a tasty, varied and nutritious meal while meeting prescribed diet requirements. This supports the mission of SEVTC to recognize the importance of programming based on individual needs and the inherent right of every human being to dignity, respect and protection.
