LOCAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMITTEE

October 21, 2009

The meeting was called to order.  The committee went into Executive Session.  The normally scheduled programs were reviewed.  The committee went into Open Session.  The programs reviewed were approved.  The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. The locked cottage and electronic monitoring form was updated and signed.  Physical management plans were signed for 275489 and 00694.

The critical incidents were read and included the following:

9/22/09 A resident was in her bed going to sleep and her peer entered her room and hit her with a belt. She sustained a laceration above the eye which required sutures. The area healed without complication. The peer has been relocated to another cottage and is doing well.

 9/21/09 A resident had a seizure related fall and sustained a laceration to her lip. Antibiotics were ordered and an ice pack was applied to the area for several days. The area is resolving without complication. She continues to be followed by the neurologist for her seizure disorder.

The advocate reported the SHRC will meet at SEVTC on 10/23/09 in Building 3.
